The Wii Fit is an accessory to the Nintendo Wii gaming system. It consists of a Wii Balance Board and a DVD. The DVD is divided into four fitness regimens, Yoga, Aerobics, strength training and balance games. The Wii Balance Board is the heart of the system. It weighs you, calculates your body mass and keeps track of your progress. All the games and exercises cannot be accessed at the beginning. You have to build up fitness credits to be able to participate in the higher levels of fitness exercises and games.
The Wii Fit was designed to help gamers get off the couch and lose a few pounds while still feeling like they are playing a game. The Wii Balance board is a wireless device that you use like a foot control to play the games and do the exercises. The goal is to get you to exercise at least thirty minutes a day at ever increasing levels of fitness. In the Yoga section, you can't try the harder poses until you master the simpler ones. It is the same with the aerobics and strength training. You must first master the easier steps before tackling the faster, more advanced moves and exercises.
The Wii Fit is fun to use. It responds to your efforts by rewarding your progress. The more you use it, the more options will open up to you, like levels of a game, tempting you to the next round of fitness. It can be used by people of any age or fitness level.
