Usually, the vitamins and minerals we get from eating a healthy diet are sufficient to help the body fight diseases and sickness. However, some need more than just those since they are genetically susceptible to cancers and other diseases. These people may find success from adding supplements to their diets, however, sometimes that's not needed.
There are things that may help reduce the chances of getting breast cancer, but there is no hard scientific proof. The one thing that possibly may be the best is resveratrol, which is found in red wine. In fact, drinking one glass of red wine can give you enough to help. You can also find this in the grapes as well as in a supplement. Resveratrol helps by stopping the estrogen from forming bad cells.
Folate, vitamin B, and selenium are reputed to help, but unless you know from a doctor, you may get enough in your diet. Folate (folic acid) is added to many cereals and vitamin B-6 is found in many things that should be in your diet. Your genes determine whether or not selenium will help prevent breast cancer or not.
The best way to prevent any type of cancer is to eat a healthy diet. Try to limit red meat, white sugar and flour. Also, try to stay away from high-fat and fried foods as much as possible. Add the good fats, Omega 3, olive and canola oil. Eat a variety of fruits and veggies every day, and you'll get all the vitamins and minerals your body needs to stay healthy. Getting plenty of exercise each day helps in the fight, too. So if you do all this, you're taking the right steps to prevent cancer from affecting your life.
